Hi there, and welcome.
My name is Bim, and this space is a reflection of my personal journey through health challenges that have deeply affected my daily life — particularly Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS), seasonal insomnia, chronic gut issues, and sensitivities that often leave me feeling wired, restless, and frustrated.
The Seasonal Puzzle: Understanding My Restlessness
Every year, like clockwork, from around April until December, I experience intense restlessness in my legs — especially during the evening and night. But strangely enough, during the winter months (from December through March), these symptoms almost completely vanish. This seasonal pattern has become a core clue in trying to understand what’s truly going on in my body.
The Symptoms I Deal With:
Over time, I’ve also discovered that I have:
- Chronic digestive problems, including bloating, gas, and constipation
- High sensitivity to medications and supplements
- Histamine intolerance symptoms — like itchiness, skin flare-ups, and hyperactivity
- A very reactive nervous system, making sleep difficult when my system is overstimulated
- Food sensitivities (especially to things like apples, nuts, and melon), sometimes triggering throat tightness or chills
- Reactions to certain medications or even changes in brands — especially Clomipramine
- A strong connection between my gut and mood (and possibly neurotransmitter imbalances like serotonin)
This Journey Is Ongoing
This is not a fixed story. It’s an ongoing process — symptoms shift, new patterns emerge, and insights come and go. What I share here today may evolve tomorrow, and that’s part of the path I’m walking. I’m continuously learning, observing, and adapting.
What Helps Me?
It’s a constantly evolving mix of things. At different times, I’ve found relief in magnesium, vitamin D, herbal teas like peppermint and dandelion, quiet reading before bed — and, surprisingly, even a midnight snack or cigarette has brought temporary calm during restless nights. What works isn’t fixed; it shifts, just like my symptoms do. Some things seem to soothe me for a while, others stop working, and I adjust as I go.
Connecting Through Shared Experiences
This site is my place to document, explore, and hopefully connect with others who are also seeking answers or have valuable insights to share. While I’m not a medical expert, I am an expert in my own experience, and I hope that by sharing my journey, I can uncover new perspectives and find the missing pieces to my puzzle. If you have knowledge, advice, or experiences that might help me in my search for answers, I would love to hear from you.
Thank You for Being Here
You’re not alone.
